Preston Harrison shares a studio “Sharrison Studios” with wife and artist Sharon in Washington Crossing, Bucks County, PA. Together they have painted acrylic and kiln fired ceramic tile murals for schools, churches, homes and retail spaces. Their work has been on display at the Trenton State Museum, “Ellarslie” The Trenton City Museum, Prallsville Mill, Phillips Mill, Artworks, Philadelphia College of Art, Gallery 125, Princeton University and numerous private collections. Preston has studied under artist and friend Mel Leipzig and at The Philadelphia College of Art. Preston specializes in large portraits that capture subjects “in the moment”.
Artist’s Statement
“The greatest satisfaction I get from my portraits comes when a viewer smiles. Or,when the viewer notes that they feel that the painted subject has invited them into the painting. In these uncertain times I’d like to produce something that radiates good feelings. I specialize in smiles. I’m not interested in painting introspective, serious or posed portraits. I want my portraits to demonstrate that the subject is in a “good place” in their life and invites the viewer to share it.” Think about it. How do you want to be remembered “Dead or Alive”? My paintings will always be “Alive”!

Sharon Harrison is known for her realistic portraitures of animals. Sharon Harrison has a gift for capturing the character and unique personality of your pet. She began her painting career as a “trompe l’oeil” artist, painting so realistic as to “trick the eye”. In her murals she often painted in the client’s pets and this led to the pet portrait paintings. Sharon Harrison works from a series of photographs (because your pet will not “sit” for the time it takes to create the portrait!). A series of photographs is the best way to see the character and true color to truly create an accurate portrait.

Sharon Harrison enjoys painting portraits of anything. It all started when asked to paint “portraits” of owner’s cars, airplanes and houses to personalize their wall murals. So why not paint them on canvas (or tile) and frame them. They are gifts that cannot be matched. They are perfect for “the impossible to buy for” and realtors have found them to be great gifts for clients at closing.
Preston Harrison also enjoys painting portraits of cars and building, often adding a touch of whimsy and creating caricatures of buildings.

Sharon Harrison of Sharrison Studios enjoys diversity in her art mediums. Sharon is technically best at painting in acrylic, which is the medium for her mural works. She uses similar technique in her works in acrylic on canvas or board but because of the smaller canvas and the aspects of working in the studio it allows her to be more attentive to detail. She is self-taught and has created her own style of realistic painting. Trompe l’oeil painting is her passion and can often be seen in her works on canvas or in murals.
Sharon Harrison has exhibited at Ellarslie – the Trenton City Museum, 2001 TAWA Juried Art Show “Eyes on Trenton” at the New Jersey State Museum, Artsbridge Members Show, Ellarslie Open 26 in 2008 and was featured in the Ellarslie 2009 calendar.

Tile Painting
Tile painting were started by Preston Harrison when he decided to treat the tile as if it were a canvas. Since then both Preston and Sharon have created and been commissioned to create fine art tile paintings. They have developed unique techniques to create vibrant paintings using ceramic glazes. They have both exhibited their paintings in juried art shows for TAWA, Artsbridge, Prallsville, Ellarslie and the New Jersey State Museum.
